Llechryd schoolboy John Curran is making a name for himself in county cricket circles - and he's only nine.
Cricket fanatic John, who is a left-handed batsman, has broken through into the Pembrokeshire Under 11s squad, and is already showing tremendous potential, having top-scored on two of his three appearances for the county.
He was recently presented with a county cap, jumper and polo shirt.
It is hardly surprising that the youngster is showing such promise, given that his dad Steve is captain of Llechryd first XI in Division Three of the Pembs Championship.
Steve, who is steward of the cricket club at the Castell Malgwyn ground, said "He comes here as often as possible, and loves nothing better than practicing his batting."
