Maesglas stayed in contention after an emphatic 7-0 win over fellow townies Cardigan Reserves at King George V Playing Field.
The game was over as a serious contest before the interval with the Blues four goals clear and having things their own way.
Hero of the hour for the visitors was 40-year-old player/manager and central midfielder Paul `Hope' Jones who notched his first ever hat-trick.
It was Jones who rifled a 20-yarder past Michael John to open his side's account, and further first half goals were struck by impressive newcomer Oscar Higgins, Dan Ramsey and Darren Williams. After change of ends boss Jones made it 5-0, Dominic Williams hit a sixth and Jones completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot.
