ONE of Britain's most exciting young guitarists is to give her first recital in Wales at Theatr Mwldan on May 23. Amanda Cook's busy diary includes the appearance of her first CD, a recent recital at London's Wigmore Hall and forthcoming tours of Mexico and Austria.
Bach and his exact contemporary Sylvius Weiss feature in her programme. Two Spanish flavoured pieces are also included plus a specially composed piece to commemorate the anniversary of the bombing of Omagh. The final work in her programme is by the brilliant guitarist Benjamin Verdery.
This recital, presented jointly by The Peter Gould Music Trust and Theatr Mwldan, is part of Cardigan's Music Live weekend. Tickets are available from the theatre's box office on 01239 621200.
