Talented young gymnast Caroline Sharman will be competing for Wales in the UK gymnastic finals in Birmingham next month.
Caroline, eight, of Sarnau, has been competing for just over two years since her potential was spotted at Aberporth gymnastics club.
She was recommended to attend Llanelli for more specialist training and quickly became one of the youngest gymnasts to have ever gained a place in the Welsh Preparation Squad at the National Sports Centre for Wales in Cardiff.
This year has been even more successful for Caroline, a pupil at Aberporth School.
She has again gone through a rigorous trial and earned her place in the Welsh preparation squad and also gained a silver medal in a competition in Cardiff in March, which earned her a place in next month's British finals.
Caroline's coach Colette James said: "I would like to pay tribute to Caroline and her mum Jude for their commitment in travelling an hour and a half each way to attend the gym four times a week as well as extra on weekends for West Wales and Welsh squad training in Cardiff.
"I'm sure that their commitment and Caroline's unique talent will eventually make her an even more successful young gymnast."
