Stranger danger warning

From the Tivyside Advertiser, first published Wednesday 22nd Jan 2003.

Parents of young schoolchildren in the area are this week warned to be extra vigilant after a pupil walking home from Coed y Bryn School, Llandysul, was approached by a man in a car who offered him a lift. When the boy declined, the silver coloured vehicle drove off.

The man at the wheel is described by the police as being between 40 and 70 years of age, with white or grey hair brushed backwards. It is said that he was wearing clear rimmed glasses and spoke with an English accent.

Anyone with information as to the identity of this individual is asked to contact Cardigan CID on 01239 612209.

"All schools in the area have been contacted by the police in case a similar incident occurs elsewhere," a CID spokesman told the Tivy-Side.
