Rising star Kevin James of Cardigan and Welsh Bowling Association presudent John Evans of New Quay proudly show off the Sealy Trophy, after Wales under 25s retained the British Championship in Belfast.
During the 11th annual home international series at Belmont Bowling Club, the Welsh lads swept aside England, Scotland and Ireland over two days, with 19-year-old postman James, on his international debut, one of the stars of the championship.
After the rink skipped by James completed a 100% record, the Cardigan bowler came in for glowing praise. Team manager Hugh Meddins said: "Kevin took to international bowls like a duck to water. "He maintained a high level of bowling throughout the two days, and looks to have a bright international future in front of him," he said.
