Fed up and frustrated members of New Quay Football Club are this week enlisting the help of local AM Elin Jones, in a bid to secure additional funding for work to start on new changing rooms.
Launched two and a half years ago, the changing rooms project has been beset with problems, and the price has risen from an original £105,000 to £145,000.
Sportslot provided a 70% grant, and further funding was obtained from various sources, including Ceredigion County Council and New Quay Town Council.
Now the club has been told that the changing rooms cannot be built without the provision of a disabled access, which is likely to cost a further £10,000.
Disappointed chairman Dai Harding said: "We have been hit by VAT, and by red tape.
"I've contacted people all over the country in an attempt to obtain funding for the disabled access, but I've been shunted from one department to another," he said.
"The changing rooms should have been completed a long time ago, but everything is still on stop, and quite frankly everyone at the club is getting fed up with the whole business," he said.
In the meantime club training started last night (Tuesday), and will be held every Tuesday at 6.30pm. First team manager for next season is ex-Aberystwyth Town player Leighton Thomas, with Wayne Richardson in charge of the reserves.
